JEWELRY INSURANCE AND PROTECTION POLICY
Effective Date: August 17, 2026
Last Updated: August 17, 2026
At Diamond Forest, we recognize that luxury fine jewelry crafted with premium lab-grown diamonds represents both a significant financial investment and a cherished milestone. To ensure your pieces remain protected against unforeseen liabilities and maintain their structural resilience, we provide standard industry insurance guidance alongside our optional Extended Jewelry Protection Plan. This unified policy outlines independent third-party insurance pathways, available protection plan coverage, routine preservation services, and governing compliance standards.
Third-Party Jewelry Insurance Advisory
- Underwriter Disclosure: Diamond Forest is a fine jewelry manufacturer and retailer; it is not a licensed insurance underwriter or insurance agency. In accordance with our Limited Manufacturing Defect Warranty, incidents involving accidental physical trauma, impact damage, stone loss, chipping, mysterious disappearance, and theft are strictly excluded from all retail warranties and store-level service plans. To ensure comprehensive financial protection against these external and catastrophic risks, Diamond Forest strongly advises clients to secure specialized, independent third-party jewelry insurance.
- Recommended Insurance Channels: Clients are encouraged to arrange dedicated coverage through established insurance providers immediately upon taking delivery of their order:
- Specialized Standalone Insurers: Dedicated jewelry insurers (such as Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group or BriteCo) provide comprehensive policies built specifically for fine jewelry and loose lab-grown diamonds.
- Homeowners or Renters Endorsements: Standard property and casualty insurers often permit adding an individual jewelry rider or scheduled personal property endorsement to an active policy.
- Scope of Independent Insurance Protection: Specialized third-party insurance policies provide broad financial and casualty protection, including:
- Worldwide coverage against theft, robbery, and burglary during personal travel.
- Replacement or replication for lab-grown center diamonds, accent stones, or entire jewelry pieces lost due to physical impact, accidental trauma, or unexplained loss (mysterious disappearance).
- Repair reimbursement or remanufacturing coverage for cracked, fractured, or shattered diamonds and severe structural deformations resulting from heavy physical impact.
- Appraisals for Insurance Scheduling: To facilitate immediate coverage with an external insurance provider without delays or coverage gaps, Diamond Forest provides an official retail appraisal report or certified laboratory grading documentation for all eligible engagement rings, loose lab-grown diamonds, and fine jewelry creations. We advise submitting these official documents directly to your chosen insurance carrier upon taking delivery of your shipment.
The Diamond Forest Extended Jewelry Protection Plan
- Plan Overview & Terms: To provide supplementary care beyond our Limited Manufacturing Defect Warranty, Diamond Forest offers an optional, paid Extended Jewelry Protection Plan available in 3-Year or Lifetime terms. This plan provides zero-deductible coverage for authorized routine preservation and designated non-impact maintenance, taking effect immediately upon order completion.
- Scope of Covered Maintenance & Preservation Services: The Protection Plan absorbs 100% of labor and material costs for specific, authorized structural preservation services, strictly provided the item has not sustained external impact trauma, severe neglect, or unauthorized alteration:
- Prong Inspection & Tightening: Inspecting and securing loose stone settings where the metal claws and mounting structure remain structurally intact and undamaged by physical trauma.
- Professional Cleaning & Rhodium Refinishing: Periodic ultrasonic cleaning, surface brightening, and routine rhodium re-plating for white precious metal mountings.
- Hardware & Clasp Adjustments: Adjusting and maintaining functional integrity for earring posts, chain links, clasps, and safety catches loosened through standard, non-impact usage.
- Pearl Restringing: Restringing and knot-securing for eligible pearl strands requiring routine preventative care.
- Strict Policy Exclusions (Aligned with Warranty Standards): In strict alignment with the exclusions established in our Limited Manufacturing Defect Warranty, the Protection Plan does not cover damage resulting from physical trauma, normal wear and tear, or external occurrences:
- Normal Wear & Tear: Expected structural thinning of precious metals over time, general micro-scratches, and prongs naturally wearing down or flattening from regular friction.
- Physical Trauma & Impact Damage: Bending, warping, shank cracking, or structural deformation caused by accidental drops, heavy impacts, pressure, sports, or snagging on clothing.
- Stone Loss, Chipping, or Fractures: Any missing, dislodged, chipped, cracked, or shattered lab-grown diamonds resulting from physical trauma, accidental impact, or worn prongs (all casualty losses and stone replacements must be submitted to an independent third-party insurance carrier).
- Chemical & Environmental Exposure: Discoloration, tarnish, or metal degradation caused by exposure to chlorine, swimming pools, hot tubs, harsh chemicals, perfumes, cosmetics, or improper storage.
- Loss, Theft, or Disappearance: Missing jewelry items, stolen pieces, or unexplained disappearance.
Compliance, Defensive Protocols & Verification
- Mandatory Physical Inspection: No plan service or maintenance will be approved without a comprehensive physical evaluation by Diamond Forest’s Quality Assurance laboratory.
- Evaluation Shipping Protocols: Customers seeking plan evaluations after the standard return window may utilize Diamond Forest's authorized, fully insured return shipping label for a flat fee of $30, or follow authorized shipping instructions.
- Third-Party Alteration Void Clause: Any sizing, laser welding, engraving, repair, polishing, stone resetting, or modification performed by an unauthorized third-party jeweler immediately and permanently voids the Extended Protection Plan and all associated service privileges.
- Absolute Prohibition of Stone Replacement Claims: The Protection Plan does not replace lost, stolen, or impact-damaged lab-grown diamonds under any circumstances. Missing stones and disappearances are classified strictly as casualty insurance matters and must be routed through your third-party insurance carrier.
- Abuse & Neglect Exclusions: Diamond Forest reserves the right to deny coverage and return the item unrepaired at the owner's expense if our Quality Assurance team determines the jewelry exhibits intentional abuse, commercial exploitation, structural tampering, or severe neglect.
- Maximum Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diamond Forest’s aggregate total liability under any protection plan shall in no event exceed the original net purchase price paid by the customer for the specific item, excluding taxes, shipping fees, or financing charges.
Governing Law & Mandatory Dispute Resolution
- Governing Law: This policy, its terms, and any disputes arising directly or indirectly from your purchase or service requests shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- Mandatory Binding Individual Arbitration: Any legal dispute, claim, or controversy relating to this policy, its coverage, or its enforcement shall be resolved exclusively through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under the Federal Arbitration Act (“FAA”).
- Class Action Waiver: All arbitration proceedings shall take place strictly on an individual basis; you explicitly waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits, class-wide arbitrations, or representative legal proceedings against Diamond Forest Inc.
